A Dentil is, in architecture, a small tooth-shaped block used as a repeating ornament in the bedmould of a cornice.

Final trim or finished frame around the top, and both sides of a door or window opening
Wall Base, Panel, And Chair Rail Limitations:
Minimum 12″ Raduis.
Casing Limitations:
Minimum 60″ Radius for profiles up to 2-1/2″ wide.
Minimum 120″ Radius for profiles to 2-1/2″ – 4″ wide.
Crown Limitations:

Minimum 96″ Radius for profiles up to 3″ – 4″ wide.

Minimum 120″ Radius for profiles up to 4″ – 6″ wide.

Minimum 144″ Radius for profiles up to 6″ – 8″ wide.

Minimum 168″ Radius for profiles up to 8″ – 9″ wide.

Minimum 192″ Radius for profiles up to 9″ – 10″ wide.

To measure for straight applications just measure length needed and round up to the next even footage.

For tighter radiuses specify whether it should be bent on the face or back, this will ensure the fit to be snug

Most application require a template:
Crown and Base Moulding:

Determine the exact diameter width of the column (1/2,3/4 or full coverage) next determine length needed and add 2 feet to calculate the material length needed.

Irregular Radius Crown:

Make a template that fits against the wall curve or fits to the outside edge of the dormer and mark the template with the molding position information this is important don’t disregard this factor. Determine length needed and add 2 feet (for waste factor).

Crown and Base Moulding Limitations
  1. Minimum 36″ Radius for profiles 8″ to 10″ wide and no restricted flexibility because of the moulding width
  2. Minimum 24″ radius for profiles 6″ to 8″ wide, and the profile will flex 2″ larger or smaller
  3. Minimum 18″ radius for profiles 5″ to 6″ wide, and the profile will flex 3″ larger or smaller.
  4. Minimum 12″ radius for profiles 4″ to 5″ wide, and the profile will flex 4″ larger or smaller
  5. Minimum 8″ radius for profiles 3″ to 4″ wide, and the profile will flex 5″ larger or smaller
  6. Minimum 6″ radius for profiles 2″ to 3″ wide, and the profile will flex 6″ larger or smaller
Elliptical outboard radius limitations:
  1. Minimum 16″ radius if the profile is 6″ to 8″ wide.
  2. Minimum 12″ radius if the profile is 5″ to 6″ wide.
  3. Minimum 10″ radius if the profile is 4″ to 5″ wide.
  4. Minimum 8″ radius if the profile is 3″ to 4″ wide.
